Initial Gas Qualification

Category 3 Specific Conditions
Applicants are new entrants to the gas industry or one that has not been able to provide acceptable evidence of relevant qualifications and gas experience. In such cases a full Gas Training programme, IGQ with portfolio is offered.

This course is for new entries into the gas industry. This is a course for people with no gas qualifications or wants extra training in gas.

The course is a 2 week course that takes you from basic understanding of gas; this includes pipework installation, defects, pipe sizing, tightness testing, gas pressure, gas rates, controls, ventilation, and flues.

On completion of the course the candidate is required to work along side a Corgi Registered Gas Engineer and complete a minimum of 10 week portfolio, it is advised that you find a Corgi Engineer before you start this course. In the portfolio you require photographic evidence for you work.

Four weeks after you have done the course you must come back to complete your assessment, the date will be given to you.

After you have competed your portfolio and it has been signed off by RAD Training then you may continue with the other gas courses.

We will provide you with the portfolio that you must complete.

On the first visit to us you need to bring pen, paper and a calculator and passport size photos.

Please Note: Assessments must be completed in the time stated. If the assessment is not completed in the maximum time period a re-assessment fee will be charged.

A fee of £ 40.00 to £49.00 plus VAT is charged by Certification Body for each certification activity in addition to the assessment fee’s shown.
